8 Days/7 Nights: Kenya & Tanzania Safari

Combo Safari

Departing from the capital of Kenya, Nairobi, we drive down the scenic escarpment of The Great Rift Valley with a brief stop at Rift Valley Escarpment.  We arrive at Masai Mara Game Reserve  in time for lunch in the afternoon and check in at our lodge/camp. After lunch relax and we take our first game drive in the Masai Mara Game Reserve.  Return to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, leave for a full day’s game drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve with a picnic lunch by Mara River with views of hippos and crocodiles. Our morning and afternoon game drives take us in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Masai Mara offers fantastic orange tinged sunsets well-worth capturing on camera. The vast Masai Mara offers abundance of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hippos and  bird species. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the wild plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but reasonably common. Return to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Ashnil Mara Tented Camp

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti passing through Isebania border. You will carry packed lunch with you from the lodge because you will arrive at the park past lunch hour. Have a game drive as you enter the park and later drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Mbalageti Lodge

The next two days will be spend exploring and enjoying game drives within the Great Serengeti. Serengeti is the home to Africa’s Big Five. There will be picnic lunch on both of the days.

Optionally, have a morning game drive till lunch time then return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, relax by the pool area before another game drive at 4p.m for 2 hours. Return to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater with a short stop at Olduvai Gorge. Enjoy an introductory game drive as you arrive at the crater as you head to the lodge. There will be no other game drive so spend the remaining hours at leisure enjoying walking around the surrounding areas and exploring the lodge’s facilities. Ngorongoro is quiet unique as its physical protection from man natural beauty ranks it among the most pristine wilderness on the earth.  It has been also declared the world heritage and is the largest intact crater in the world. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

Accommodation:  Serengeti Sopa Lodge

After breakfast, check out of the lodge with packed picnic lunch and depart for a tour of the crater floor, which is home to numerous plains game and the big five. Spend the day within the crater and have lunch at one of the famous picnic spots in the park. In the evening you will return to the lodge which is strategically perched on the rim of the collapsed volcano, with the most magnificent views of the crater floor for dinner and overnight stay.

Early breakfast and then immediately depart for Arusha. Upon arrival, you will be dropped at the JRO airport for your out-bound flight.
