3 Days / 2 Nights Bwindi Forest

Uganda Safari

Depart from Kampala early morning and proceed South-western part of the country via Kampala-Masaka road with a stopover at the Equator for photos and water experiment. We have a lunch break en route in Mbarara with an option of visiting the Igongo cultural center to experience the Ankole culture. Thereafter proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through the savannah grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredible long curving horns arriving at the Park in the evening. Travel time is about 7 – 8 hours.

Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner

Accommodation options:

  • Luxury: Gorilla Safari Lodge or Mahogany springs
  • Mid-Range: Cuckooland Lodge or Haven Lodge
  • Budget: Buhoma Community Rest Camp or Bwindi Gorilla Conservation Camp

After breakfast and briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start a 30 minutes – 8 hours trek to find the Mountain gorillas as you hike up and down slippery slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. This strenuous quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought after creatures-the mountain gorilla. Tracking gorillas through the impenetrable forest requires patience, endurance and sometimes walking for long hours in the mid and rainy jungle. Time and the terrain taken vary with the gorilla movements. Coming face to face with man’s shy “cousins” in the jungle is an inspiring moment. Carry with you bags full of bottles of water and parked lunch. After a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos, return to the Camp for dinner and overnight.
