This day is spent game viewing in the Samburu Game reserve.Samburu is famous for where the conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the lioness, made famous in the best-selling books and award winning movie Born Free. The Samburu National Reserve is also home to Kamunyak, a lioness famous for adopting Oryx calves. The park neighbors the home of the Samburu tribe of Kenya, a tribe known for its remote cultural, pastoral, nomadic way of life. Due to its remote distance and the fact that it was inaccessible for years, the park has retained a naturally serene and quiet feeling.
The park is also a bird haven. In the middle of the park the EwasoNg’iro flows through doum palm groves and thick riverine forests which provide water to this arid region. We enjoy the hostelry at the tented camp. All meals will be served at the lodge/camp. Return to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
