Day 1: Nairobi, The Sarova Stanley Hotel

Itinerary: The Sarova Stanley Hotel-Sarova Shaba Lodge- Sarova Lion Hill Lodge-Sarova Mara Tented Lodge-Sarova White Sands

Karibu Kenya!

You shall arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where upon arrival, you will be welcomed and met by Dhahabu representative and chauffeured to your hotel in Nairobi.  The rest of the day is spent on leisure or sight-seeing the bustling Nairobi City.

Day 2: Nairobi - Samburu

After breakfast, depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through rich farmlands on the shoulders of Mt. Kenya to the rugged semi-desert of Samburu. Arrive in time for lunch and a siesta.  An afternoon game drive in ready for you where you get to see species rarely found anywhere else. Samburu is famous for where the conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the lioness, made famous in the best-selling books and award winning movie Born Free. The Samburu National Reserve is also home to Kamunyak, a lioness famous for adopting Oryx calves. The park neighbors the home of the Samburu tribe of Kenya, a tribe known for its remote cultural, pastoral, nomadic way of life. Due to its remote distance and the fact that it was inaccessible for years, the park has retained a naturally serene and quiet feeling.

The park is also a bird haven. In the middle of the park the Ewaso Ng’iro flows through doum palm groves and thick riverine forests, which provide water to this arid region. All meals will be served at the lodge/camp.  Return to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full Day Exploring Samburu

We start our day at dawn when dawn breaks exploring the Ragged and semi desert park. Once inside the park there are two mountains visible Koitogor and Ololokwe. The natural serenity that is evident. Bird watching, hiking and Game viewing are highly favorable with the likes of dik-diks, native gerenuk, grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and Beisa Oryx.

The Ewaso Ng’iro also empties into the famous Lorian Swamp where you also get to witness Nile crocodiles swimming or basking in the river. We also take a Cultural tour of the local villages and local community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture and indigenous lifestyle which is also a good opportunity to purchase Samburu souvenirs, art and collectibles.  All meals are served at the lodge/camp. Return to lodge/camp and overnight stay.

Day 4: Samburu – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast depart from Samburu for the famous pink lake in the Rift Valley region, we drive down the scenic escarpment of The Great Rift Valley with a brief stop at Rift Valley Escarpment for a panoramic and breathe taking view of the Great escarpment weather permitting. Visit Thompson falls, for a slice of heavenly serenity by its sparkling waters.

After lunch, relax and we proceed to Lake Nakuru Nature park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive along the shores where you will have an opportunity to see millions of migratory birds including the Greater and lesser flamingo. In the acacia woodland, gets an opportunity to see plain game including the white rhino and waterbuck. We check in to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara

Depart Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara Game Reserve, jewel of Kenya's Game Park, arriving just in time for lunch. This enormous Reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is a true home of the big five-Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape Buffalo. After lunch, have a siesta before embarking on a game drive.  Return for dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp Lodge.

Day 6: Full Day Exploring Masai Mara

Enjoy the next two full days in Mara with two games drive included, in the morning and afternoon. Masai Mara offers beautiful scenery and an abundance of big game. It is a reserve of breath taking vistas, panoramas of vast rolling plains, hills and woodland groves,  well watered by the lovely Mara River, which bisect the reserve from north to south.

The Mara is home to the largest population of lions in Kenya, these magnificent beasts spending most of the day sleeping in the shade of acacia trees. Vast heard of buffalo, Zebra and wildebeest roam the plains. Impala , gazelle, giraffe and hartebeest grace the landscape , and the cautious topi may be seen standing sentinel on earth mounds on constant lookout of predators. The waters of the Mara are homes to crocodiles and pools of hippo , the acacia woodlands and riverine forest favored by leopard and elephant and the open savannah and dry bush areas play host to the plains , game and their attendant predators such as lion, cheetah, hyena, and jackal. All Meals at the lodge.

Day 7: Masai Mara– Nairobi

Depart for early morning game drive, return to lodge for breakfast and depart for Nairobi with game viewing as you leave the park enroute to main road and even beyond.  Have lunch enroute to Nairobi. Arrive Nairobi in the late afternoon, and check in your hotel.  Afternoon is spend at leisure.

Day 8: Nairobi – Mombasa by Train

After early breakfast, transfer to Nairobi Train Station for morning train, departing at 08:00 hrs. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you head to Mombasa, with occasional sights of grazing herds of zebras, dik-diks, giraffes, elephants among others. Arrive in Mombasa in the afternoon and transfer from Mombasa Train Station to the Beach Hotel. Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort, is Kenya 's Award Winning Resort, set on 22 acres of tropical gardens. Day 9, 10 & 11: Full Days in Mombasa

The next three days are spend at leisure relaxing at the hotel swimming pool or the beach.  Enjoy the white beaches of Mombasa and the culture of the Swahili people. There are several water sports and other activities, which can be organized for you on request or day tour of Mombasa.

Day 12: Mombasa - Nairobi

After breakfast, transfer to Mombasa Train Station for morning departure to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. Transfer to Airport for your outward flight back home.
